Stainless steel is widely used to make various pipes and tubes. These pipes and tubes are divided into different grades that denote the properties inherited by them. Stainless Steel 410 Pipe is one such pipe that is made up of martensitic steel. These ASTM A312 TP 410 pipes are used when the application requires high strength and toughness along with wear and tear resistance. However, the corrosion resistance of the 410 Stainless Steel Pipe is lower than the austenitic stainless steel pipe. 410 SS Pipe can be manufactured via electric resistance weld, cold drawing,or electric fusion weld.
The electric resistance weld pipes are known as SS 410 ERW pipes. their dimensions vary depending upon the method of manufacturing. The size of the AISI 410 Round Pipe ranges between ½ NB and 24 NB. Whereas, the electric fusion 410 Welded Pipe ranges between 6NB to 100 NB. They can be heated for strength. 410 Grade Pipeis easy to weld and is used in a structurally strong application. 410 Steel Pipe that is hollow is heated, quenched, and tempered to obtain the desired strength. They are used in steam turbines, gas turbines, the petroleum industry, and pumps and valves.
Grade 410 Stainless Steel Hollow Pipe has excellent mechanical properties and is not recommended for use in applications with severe corrosion. They are used for spring, fasteners, brackets, hardware, and scraper. 410 Seamless Pipe offer resistance to scaling up to a temperature of 1200 degrees F. It is said to be magnetic in all atmospheric conditions. Heat up to 1850 degrees F is required to harden these Type 410 Stainless Steel Square Pipe followed by quenching in air or oil. The electropolished pipes can resist mild corrosion to acids, water, air, and food.
